At Home Project Ideas: Pantry Organization

At your wits end looking for something to keep you busy while you’re spending hours at home? Maybe this is the time we are finally supposed to get all of those home projects done that we’ve been putting off for months!

I’m a sucker for organization tips, tricks, and tools. Yes, I am the type who finds much joy in going to The Container Store! One area of my home that continually needs help is my pantry. With a family of four (including two school-age kids), this is inevitable. Who else is in my boat?! Luckily, there are so many great organization items you can use to get your pantry looking tidy and STAYING tidy. Bins and jars with a label help everyone know where to find and put their snacks…at least that’s the goal! I also am a fan of clear containers and bins because you can easily see what is in them, they help create a clean look, and they eliminate the problem of getting excited about a late-night cereal snack only to find out it’s terribly stale!

Starting any organization project can be overwhelming, so here’s a quick little step-by-step guide you can take to conquer the chaos.

Step-by-step Guide:

  1. Remove everything from your pantry and set it on the counter.

  2. Separate everything into categories (ex: snacks, baking items, rice, pasta, candy, canned goods, spices, etc.)

  3. Throw away any empty boxes/bags or things that aren’t good anymore.

  4. Transfer dry goods into desired canisters and label if possible.

  5. Get creative and have fun restocking your shelves as desired with your new bins, baskets, and containers!
