After 20 years of being in the fashion industry I find that we each have a season we tend to get more excited about. Fall is that season for me! I love to layer up, I am always cold, and I adore the warmer color tones that fall right in line with pumpkins and hot lattes! September is the perfect month to start adding a few great pieces into the wardrobe, and I started my search with Neiman Marcus. Dallas is by far one of the best cities to shop in and so it is fitting that I started my fall shopping in this beautiful store that has been a staple stop for many years!

When I am choosing what I want to add into my wardrobe I like to start with solid pieces that I can mix and match several different ways. I call these pieces my investment items, meaning they may cost a bit more than other items in my closet but I want the ability to use them over and over again. I have learned over several years of shopping for myself and others, that I never regret investing in a handful of treats per season and Neiman Marcus is the perfect fit to find exactly that!!

My go to blazer is my Veronica Beard Miller Dickey Jacket, and by go to I mean I literally wear it probably once a week! I throw on the Veronica Beard Scuba Knit Leggings about just as much! How chic is it to have what looks like a matching sleek suit, but I can use each item separate back with other pieces in the closet too!? Please know that BOTH of these pieces are super comfy and easy to work or travel in, I use them for both! Whether I am at one of our favorite places to eat in town, or on a flight I know I can feel good and positive at the same time!

Every season the trends come in fast and hard, and it can be difficult to know what to purchase first. I always start with items that can be worn sooner rather than later. Neiman Marcus has the best selection of cardigans that can be worn simply as a fresh top or a layer! The two that caught my eye were the Frame Jocelyn Cropped Cardigan and the Alice and Olivia Zelina Metallic Deep V Cardigan. The neutral, rich colors and shorter sleeves are perfect back with my denim! Cropped can be a very scary word to read when it involves your choices of tops but I have found that giving things a try is worth it! I am short waisted so I have less mid section area that requires coverage, meaning many cropped styles hit me right at my waist and lay perfect!

Faux leather is another hot ticket for this fall. I hit a home run with this Alice and Olivia Edyth Vegan Leather Button Down Top!! Thank you Neiman Marcus for not only the price that is so doable for a leather look but for the best fall color this season. Make sure you add at least one piece in the wardrobe that has a rich Carmel or saddle tone to it! This top will be on repeat for sure and I love getting lots of use out of my purchases!

I definitely have a soft spot for accessories! Who doesn’t want a fun updated bag for the season?! Sometimes the hardest part is knowing which one to get! I grabbed this Staud Large Ruched Bean Crossbody bag. Now, bags are very personal based on how much you need to carry and what makes you happy! The soft leather on this bag, and the fact that I can wear it as a crossbody or remove the strap, making it a clutch for night is perfection.
