The Gift of Sleep

Not sure about the rest of the world, but one of the things I covet most in the world is sleep. I am in a constant game of how much sleep I wish I got and how much sleep I actually get. I have a thing about getting as much work done as possible before I go to sleep so I rest easier - which is actually a huge joke because in my line of work the job is never done. I also have major FOMO. I want to catch up on a show, check in with Case and talk about our day, and just be up for anything that may happen after I magically put my kids to bed. So basically when it comes to sleep I want to have my cake and eat it too. I want the rested face of a teenager when I wake up but yet I want the freedom to binge watch amazon without the look of death on my face the next morning. It’s never going to happen. Me and 12 hours of sleep that I dream about because I have fated myself to dream about long hours of rest while I am awake way too late catching up on work and well… T.V.

I have however found some things that I implement into my night time routine to help me relax and decompress from the day. I crave routine when it comes to bed time and these are products that I live by. So, as we are nearing the holiday season and trying to come up with creative gift ideas, Iook no further. We all need sleep, and who doesn’t love to open a thoughtful gift that pampers and promises relaxation?

Ugg Pajamas-

These are by far the softest pajamas I own and they last - like will not fall apart on you after being worn a ton of times. I love nothing more than soft and cozy pajamas when I am ready to slip into bed. I buy a few nice pair of pajamas and wear them out, and I love having less to choose from as opposed to a drawer that is crammed full and end up picking the same ones that are on the top. lol! These are amazing!

Faux Fur Slippers-

Soft slippers are my go to, like my jam. As soon as I walk in the door I am kicking off my shoes and running to locate my slippers. It is another way of me telling myself, time to get cozy and chill. Case thinks I’m a mess that I refuse to walk around the house barefoot, but I truly have the worlds coldest feet. I also don’t like my heels to get dry, so having cushy little blankets on my feet works great for me!

Plush Throw Blanket-

I have gradually replaced all my old blankets and now have 4 of these exact throws in different colors. I love them, love love love them! These throws are the softest blankets on the planet and they are machine washable! Major plus side, they do not loose the amazing softness after they have been washed! Yay, they are the absolute best and make a wonderful gift as well. The price is insane, seriously you need this in your life!

Lavender Foaming Bath-

Bathtime is my calling card for bed. I’ve even been known to doze off in the tub a few times. Case was not thrilled about that but it is just that calming to me. The whole act of running the bath, pouring my bubbles in, and slipping into the hot water just about does me in. I love taking my mind off work long enough to breathe in the lavender smell and slowly feel my body relaxing from all the thoughts that are constantly battling for my attention during the day. And we all know that bubbles just make any bath that much better!

Slip Silk Sleepmask-

This is my super hero costume after I have tucked myself into bed. I discovered eye masks about 5 years ago, and now the idea of not wearing one to bed makes me nervous! lol. For me the eye mask does a couple specific things. It tells me to turn off my brain and calm down all my outside thoughts that are sprinting around, and it’s great for my eye area and with reducing wrinlkles. I am so much more likely to rest and sleep better with my eye mask. Plus, I like it really dark when I sleep. I have few back ups to this nicer one, and man is it worth every penny. The quality of the silk in this is hands down the best!

Slip Silk Pillowcase-

Now this is much more of a splurge but I have loved it. Case got it for me as a birthday gift last year and now I have to pack it when I travel because I am that addicted to it. The fabric is truly beyond when it comes to feeling luxurious while sleeping, and again it is so good for your skin. I never wake up anymore with the deep indents of my face from what I thought was sleeping too hard, but really it was the fabric that my old pillowcases were made out of. Again, worthy every penny!

Make and Model Plush Robe-

For me a robe should feel like a blanket and be so inviting to put on that you just have to wear it! I have 1 robe, and I wear my 1 robe all the time. You don’t need multiple robes ladies, just a great, soft robe that can be washed in your washing machine from time to time. This is a perfect choice, and super cost efficient! Also a wonderful gift for a family member!

Sleep Roll on Oil-

I have a ton a respect for essential oils. I starting using them in my own home a few years ago and saw incredible results from the use of them! There are some nights when I can’t get my brain to shut off no matter how hard I work into my night time routine! The sleep oil sits in my drawer next to my bed and makes an appearance as needed and really is the perfect touch to taking my mind off of the hustle and bustle and just helps me to slow down long enough to realize I am in fact a very tired women in need of rest!

So this Holiday season give the gift of sleep and rest. Any of these items are a perfect fit into our busy lives and schedules!
