Beauty Basics at Nordstrom
The time of spring cleaning and closet editing is upon us! Something about putting up the Christmas tree gets me motivated to make all kinds of small changes. Before I know it I am cleaning out drawers and making lists of things I think I need to freshen up. My cosmetic bag was in desperate need of a few products, some that I love and have been using for a long time, and other items that I’ve had on my list to try. Now when I make a trip to Nordstrom to do some fun product research I tend to have company in the form of a 14 year old girl who happens to be my daughter! We picked up some refills on things I needed and found a couple new products that I have no idea how I lived without.
An all time favorite of mine is the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Face Primer. I never used to be a big primer girl because I didn’t want to have my skin look or feel cake-y. Since I have changed to a lighter foundation I have fallen in love with this wonderglow because it holds my foundation in place and keeps my skin looking and feeling luminous! I have several Charlotte Tilbury products and I can only find them at Nordstrom!
A dear friend gifted me this brush for Christmas and it has been a game changer! I had seen the Artis brush around but didn’t want to spend the money on it. Thank you to my sweet friend who took care of me! But in all seriousness I truly would purchase it now, knowing how smoothly it applies my foundation! My particular brush is the Artis Elite Oval 7 Brush, and Nordstrom has it in two colors to choose from. For real- the best brush.
In the time when eye lash extensions are the rage, we all want longer and fuller lashes! I don’t have extensions but I’d love to have the best look I can with my mascara! I started using a primer for my lashes a few months back and now I can’t imagine ever not using it! The Lancome Cals Booster XL Vitamin-Infused Mascara primer will be in my cosmetic bag forever! I was telling Tanner how it keeps my lashes from clumping as well and she can’t to steal it now! I also love the added benefit of giving my lashes some vitamins before I weigh them down with my mascara.
I picked up this mascara just to try it out. I tend to like to try lots of mascaras and switch it up. This Lancome Silver Glitter Monsieur Big Mascara delivered what it offered - lots of volume and fullness! I loved watching Tanner eye all the fabulous mascara selections at Nordstrom with me, and while I don’t mind investing in my mascara, she’s happy with just about anything. That and also the fact that she goes through mascara ten times faster then I do!
While I was picking up items I needed to refill, I snagged a couple of brow items that I have been looking at for a few months. I am a huge Anastasia fan, and have yet to find so many brow products that I love. I now use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Mechanical Brow Pencil , its a very easy way to fill my brows without over doing it and making my brows look too dark. I top my brows off with a new product, and it works like a charm! The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Gel keeps my brows in place without leaving any sticky residue. Two quick and easy ways to clean up my brows!
Saving the best for last, and yes this a product that my daughter and I both share! I LOVE this highlighter. We decided to try the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Star Highlighter because the color was gorgeous, I love a golden highlighter more than any other shade. This product has been such a fun addition to my make up routine! Plus it always gets me a fun conversation, and I love sharing make up finds!
I hope this gives you a few new ideas when you look at your cosmetic bag the same way I did! So now you can grab your teenage daughter, mom, friend and head to Nordstrom to have some girl time investing in your beauty routine! Cleaning out and editing isn’t just for the closet, it is for any area of your life that takes up space and requires your attention!
