It's time to talk slingbacks.

Slingbacks are still the it shoe, and here's why.

Whether you are running around town or going on a date or a night out with your girlfriends, slingbacks can easily take you from day to night. But how you style them is the most important part! Here are a few rules I like to follow.

1. The wider the leg of pants, the pointier the toe should be.

If your go-to is the Beverley jean from VB or the Palazzo from Frame, to make your legs look longer and sleeker I would suggest going with at least a kitten heel for height (and the pointier the toe the better). For an ankle flare/kick flare you are safe to go with a more round toe like the classic Chanel slingback.

2. For a short dress, always choose a flat or a stiletto heel slingback.

Pick flats for a more casual look or a stiletto for a dressier look. Kitten heels should really only be worn with full length denim, maxi skirts, and long dresses.

3. Before you "buy in" to this trend, although this type of shoe will most likely always be in style, consider going for a less expensive version of your favorite designer pair.

There are so many great slingbacks this season- so go out, look around, and have fun! I promise you will find something to love!
