Olive you…a lot

Current Elliott Military Jacket | Destroyed Skinny Jeans | Fringe Sandal (alternate) | White Tank | Chloe Crossbody

I have a history with olive green. I avoided it because I wasn't sure it was a color I could pull off. Well ladies, as you can tell, I am singing a different tune today. I finally gave this amazing neutral tone a fighting chance and I’m in love!

As I was researching the Nordstrom sale items, I stumbled upon this gem and wanted to share it with you guys because you know I can’t have you missing out on anything! So, why is this military style jacket a must for the closet - other than the fall color? Here ya go…

The weight. This jacket is super light weight, and for us Texas gals it means we can actually wear it through the fall and not just stare at it in the closet. We all know it is hot until after Thanksgiving anyway lol! It is also slightly oversized, just enough room to have a long sleeve underneath and still be able to bend your arms! I mean, I appreciate room to layer, just in case.

The length. As women, many of us have curves. Curves, my loves, are not a bad thing! They make us feminine and mysterious creatures. I know my body type and I embrace it…I am pear shaped, meaning I curve the most just under my waist. The reason this jacket is slimming and flattering, even though it is slightly oversized, is because it hits right below my curves taking the eye down my body as opposed to across my widest spot. Hence, my new best friend.

The color. As you can probably tell by now, I wear denim… a lot. I love colors that are clean and easy to wear several ways. Olive is now a new member of my color family. I will be pairing this jacket back with black, white, blush, navy, grey, and, of course, denim. And make a note of this small detail please, cuff the sleeves on this. It is important that wrists are seen when possible, they are delicate and it keeps the jacket from looking heavy on the arms.

I have linked several other olive jacket options in case this one is out of your price point. Don’t be afraid to try something new! I always push my clients to try new things and I think you should too!

Thanks for reading and for the trust and support!
